Lazare Potter & Giacovas is pleased to announce the expansion of the firm’s Litigation and Corporate practice groups with the addition of partners James F. Moyle and Johannes K. Gäbel. The firm has also changed its name to Lazare Potter Giacovas & Moyle LLP.
James F. Moyle has twenty-five years of experience representing clients across industries in complex commercial and securities litigation, arbitrations and regulatory investigations. His successful track record has led to repeated recognition as one of New York’s leading business lawyers. In a recent precedent-setting win, Jim represented an issuer in administrative proceedings that rejected the SEC’s first ever attempt to impose a permanent suspension for violations of new Regulation A+ of the Securities Act. He currently is representing an $8 billion investment company and related entities in regulatory proceedings and putative class action litigation. Jim was a securities litigation partner at Alston & Bird and at Clifford Chance before starting his own practice.
Johannes K. Gäbel is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer who has been advising clients in the financial, automotive, high tech, life science and basic materials industries for more than thirty years. Johannes focuses on M&A, corporate finance, asset-backed and asset-based financing, contractual arrangements for the sale of products, corporate governance and all aspects of compliance. Johannes also oversees litigation, investigations and other strategically crucial corporate events. A native German, Johannes has particular experience advising German and other European businesses. Johannes previously was a partner at the New York offices of Norton Rose Fulbright, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, and Clifford Chance. Johannes is admitted in New York and in Germany.
“Jim and Johannes bring decades of big-firm experience and sophistication to our litigation and corporate practice groups,” says LPG&M founding partner Steve Lazare. “Their energy and know-how are perfect complements to our firm.”
